Life on the road from the seat of a harley sure makes for a very sweet ride indeed. This assignment was one of those you dream of, especially as a motorcyclist of over 15 years and a lover of the open road and Harley Davidsons. Our production company Tomsuey Inc. headed up by my partner Sue McGhee worked hand in hand with the ER people to produce a truly memorial shoot for all involved.
Assignment - To capture the experience of being on tour with a group of fellow riders from all over the world, inc Spain, Germany,Australia and the UK. As part of our production we rode with the group of 18 and also shot footage from our support vehicle and set up a selection of images for general print & online advertising purposes.
Locations included: Joshua Nationa Park, Palm Springs, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Mojave Desert, Yosemite NPk, San Francisco, Highway 1 to Los Angeles.
Client and crew were blown away by the images captured and a great relationship was formed with this new client.

Ask anyone from Japan or Korea who Kwon Sangwoo is and they'll say - "are you kidding me he's huge actor."
Tom McGhee was comissioned by Sangwoo's agent company ISTAR to capture the true essence of this upcoming star. Tom shot Sangwoo for 3 days all over Manhattan including rooftops, streets, dinners, times square to the fall beauty of Central Park.
This project was made more complex by the fact that all of Sangwoo's support team of 8 consisting of stylists,make-up artists, manager and other support people none of which spoke a word of english including Sangwoo himself.
So we came up with the plan to bring on a couple of great photo assistants who were fluent in Korean which worked well for both parties on a business sense. But when it came to shooting Tom & Sangwoo didn't need words they connected right from the first day of shooting.
Even in New York city we came across many people staring at us while we were shooting, many couldn't believe he was here in the city. Autograph signing was a regular daily practice.
The client came away from our shoot delighted in the fact that he had great images along with having a enjoyable experience.

This shoot produced by Tomsuey Inc my production company on behalf of Ogilvy & Mather based out of the Dusseldorf office in Germany was shot in March of 2008.
As this was a summer campaign that presented us with a challenge right from the start, taking into consideration we had 2 aerial days over Manhattan to shoot Central Park among other iconic images of the city whilst there was a good powder of snow.
Meanwhile on the ground we were working in a grurella style of shooting in very cold conditions our team stayed in a positive and energized manner, I think this also helped us with keeping warm.
At the end of the day the shoot was a great success with the client returning back to Germany after 10 days with great selection of images to work from.
Feedback - As a direct result of our shoot the Dusseldorf office under the creative direction of Martin Seele won the worldwide account from the New York office.
